Stepping up to help an energy company step into the future.

In 2021 Total embarked on a journey to reinvent itself as TotalEnergies in line with modern trends towards energy that is more affordable, clean, reliable and accessible to as many people as possible. This meant Pivoting from their historic role as a petroleum company to become a broad energy company producing and marketing energies on a global scale incorporating oil and biofuels, natural gas and green gases, renewables and electricity.

TotalEnergies was in the process of developing a new global campaign in support of their renewed brand ambitions to the world. This meant applying the new branding and corporate identity to all master assets.

They needed a partner who could help them rebrand and transform thousands of assets on multiple campaigns across all communication channels, including the creation of additional master assets, re-editing of exiting material, animated content and sound mixing.

Under any circumstances, communicating a new Branding platform to the world is a monumental undertaking, requiring resources at scale and ample timeframes.

We had neither.

Working closely with global agency of record in Paris, BETC, Hercules stepped up and mobilized a strong team of 15+ talents in a short timeframe to make the project work. Sitting together in a dedicated “war room” and studio, the multidisciplinary squad was able to remaster and deliver dozens of assets daily over the sustained period of the project.

The program included comprehensive coordination between all key stakeholders, within a short period of time, and in strict compliance with new Brand guidelines that themselves were still being finalised.

BETC and Hercules proved invaluable in helping TotalEnergies rebrand within the prescribed four months from the launch of the new identity.
